When you want to buy a computer, you always have to take a look at the computer Specs.
Now the types of computer specs are:
CPU processor: CPU processors come in the unit GHz, and here are some examples of some CPU processors(Duo core processor(1 CPU), Dual core processor(2 CPU), Quad Core Processors(4 CPU), 6 Core Processor(6 CPU),.... and the higher the GHz , the faster the computer however it mostly depends on the CPU type(Duo core, Dual core, Quad core..)Because for example , Quad core processors are 4 times faster than Duo core.
However, a Duo core processor can work well but its not the editing type processor, if you are a video editor or if you work with graphics and visual effects , you are going to need at least Quad Core(Dual core is great for cutting video but not so good for video effect programs like After Affects or Motion.
RAM: RAM or Random Access Memory, is also how fast a computer can be. If you are looking for a laptop just for Online Internet and Microsoft Office for Work, 1 or 2 GB ram is enough , however if you want to get into editing like i said before, you are going to need a fast computer. So, you should at least have 4 GB Ram, and most editors make the RAM as high as 16 GB.However, i have a 4 GB ram computer , and editing works great with it. But i do recommend getting 6 GB ram.
Hard Disk Space: This is very important, you are going to have to look at the hard disk space the most. The unit of HDD is GB. The lowest HDD these days is as low as 64GB, and as high as much as you want. Now, as I said , if you are just using it for internet and Microsoft Office for work , you are not going to a need a high fast computer. So i recommend 128-250 GB ; and if you want to store video for video editing , i recommend 500GB at least. 1 terabyte recommended. If you have a laptop, you can buy an external Hard Drive if your laptop doesn't have a lot of space in it already.
Now, there are a lot more Specs, but these are the ones you are going to have to look at at first when you are searching for a good laptop or Computer.
